Lucy Faye Bell was a woman of profound faith, embodying love and unwavering commitment throughout her life. Her deep devotion to the Lord and her active participation in her church were characterized by a joyful spirit and a generosity that inspired those around her.
For more than three decades, Lucy invested her heart and soul into her role at Fresenius Medical Care, where she exemplified compassion, pride, and excellence in all she did. Her strong work ethic and dedication to serving others left a lasting impression on her colleagues and the patients whose lives she touched.
Above all, Lucy cherished her family. She was the proud mother of three: Demetria Johnson and Corey Bell from Tyler, Texas, and LaTonya Johnson from Grand Prairie, Texas. As a grandmother, she delighted in her fourteen grandchildren and was blessed with twenty great-grandchildren, each of whom brought boundless joy and laughter into her life.
One of Lucy's cherished dreams came true when she earned her Associate of Applied Science degree. Her relentless pursuit of her goals served as a powerful testament to her family—a living example of the principle that perseverance is key to overcoming obstacles. She instilled in her loved ones the importance of resilience and determination.
Lucy was vibrant, humorous, and full of life. She had a remarkable ability to bring joy to others through laughter and love. Music was a significant part of her life; her home was often filled with melodies that mirrored her cheerful spirit. She also had a passion for cooking, particularly baking, creating a warm and inviting kitchen where family and sweetness intertwined.
A true giver, Lucy poured her time, love, wisdom, and strength into everything she did. She instilled values of hard work, kindness, and compassion in her children. Beyond being a mother, she was a confidant and a friend, always ready to lend an ear and share a moment of closeness.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Harriet Davis and Terry Harmon; her sisters, Shirley Walker and Linda Tilley; her brother, Anthony Davis; and her cherished grandson, K’Darius Stewart.
She is survived by her three children; her sisters, Patricia Thompson and Marion Simpson; her fourteen grandchildren—Kenevery Wilson, Tanyelle Stewart, Demetric Wilson, Majes’tia Johnson, Jade Palmer, DeAnte’ Williams, DeAndre’ Williams, Rashad Bell, Russell Palmer, Corey Bell Jr., Zalaina Harrell, Coriyuna Bell, Corde’ Bell, and Coreyeon Bell—and her twenty four great-grandchildren.
To her family, she was lovingly known as Momma, Mother, Memaw, and Granny Lucy—titles that reflect the multitude of roles she embraced with grace, strength, and unwavering love.
Her legacy is one of faith, family, perseverance, and love. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, lessons, and laughter that will continue to resonate through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
