Mr. Donald Ray Cooper “Duck” died unexpectedly in Bonham, Texas on Tuesday, April 9,2024 in Bonham, Texas at the age of 68.
Donald is survived by his mother Nora Cooper, Tyler, Texas; sons Michael Ray Cooper of Rockwall, Texas, Travers Demarcus Cooper of Tyler, Texas, Al-Kendrick Cooper of Houston, Texas, Michael Jeremy Walker of Dallas, Texas, Jeremy Dion Cooper of Wills Point, Texas; Three sisters Linda G. Clark of Gladewater Texas, Cynthia K. (Leonard) Wade and Norva Jan Raibon both of Tyler, Texas, four brothers Steven A. (Quinette) Cooper of Tyler, Texas Bruce A. Cooper of Tyler, Texas, Billy J. Cooper of Fort Worth, Texas and Victor Tucker of Tyler, Texas;14 grandchildren and host of other relatives. Donald is proceeded in death by his father Elvrich Everheart.
Donald Ray Cooper was born on August 17, 1955 in Tyler, Texas to Nora Cooper and Elvrich Everhart. He attended Dumbar and Bonner Elementary, Dogan Middle School and graduated high school from John Tyler High School. At the early age of 18 Donald decided to serve our country and he joined the United States Army where he served for 5 years and became a Vietnam Veteran.
Donald Ray Cooper was a member of the Browning Memorial IME Church where he served as a youth usher on the local level as well as the state level under the leadership of Pastor W.A. Ferguson. He later moved on to become a member of the New Beginning C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of his brother Pastor Steven A. Cooper where he contributed financially. Donald was currently serving under the leadership of Pastor Shawn Courtney of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas.
Donald was a dedicated and hard worker. After leaving the army Donald was employed by several different companies including Tyler Pipe Industries, Trane Technologies, and Carrier Corporation. Donald was currently employed at the Domiciliary at the Veterans Hospital in Bonham, Texas.
